Pilates, pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates, is a mind-body exercise system designed to optimize physical fitness in people at every level of physical ability. Originally named 'Contrology', the exercise system helped prevent injury and improve strength while maintaining long, even muscle tone.
Through the years the Pilates method has been expanded into rehabilitation, sports conditioning, senior pilates, etc. With the main focus always being to strengthen your CORE muscles, Pilates is great for everyone young to old.
